Yard run best dressed. Most yards are undressed, but we are to dress them up and make a more appealing view to the eye. Consider that the proper dress can change the look of any one person, the same is true with a yard. We can do many things that can help you get started, then turn it over to you. We can give you ideas and point you in the right direction. You can have it your way by asking for help in the areas you need and taking it over were you want. The way you dress says so many things about you, so does the way you dress your yard. When accessorizing let us help you, we will dedicate ourselves to doing what we can so you can do what you can. Subdue the earth is to make it useable. Let us - we serve the Eastside: Bellevue, Newcastle, Redmond, Issaquah and the South End: Kent, Enumclaw, Maple Valley, Black Diamond; and have done some beautiful work on the water front on Mercer Island.

Light comes from the Son!

The Son of God is the way, the light and the truth, anything else is but a mirror or reflection, which is usually twisted or opposite, or opposition too. Try turning to the Son and you will not be looking at a shadow, but pure light. Reflections or mirages are but things of the past or future. Peace comes from focusing on the present. Shadows of doubt come from looking too much to the past or the future. Focusing on the now will bring about a bright future and not cause us to give way to giving up because of our past mistakes. Overcoming and becoming is just that, forgetting the past and taking a fresh view of the present, “A change of mind, a change of heart, a change of ones destiny.”

Living in the present is the here and now and brings about resolve to live it and live it well.

Come what may is not a bad thought. My mother always watched the Doris Day show “Que sera, sera, what ever will be will be” she would sing. I think it got her through the tough times raising ten children.

Enjoy life and live in the present.

Maintenance is the key.

Let us help. We could help you get caught back up and then you take the drivers seat.

Put your Beds to Bed!

November 27th, 2008

Get to Bed! That was a sound I heard as a child of 5 sisters and 4 brothers.  We use to cause all sorts of trouble for our parents.  We would create games that made no sense to adults, like who could keep ice-cubes floating on their bellies, who could stand on their head the longest, who could hold book A of the encyclopedia out to the side the longest, but we never went to bed.  Poor Dad was always prowling around trying like a tomb cat to catch us, but we could always hear him coming.  He was 5′6″ and 250 lbs, and when he came down the stairs we would all be back in bed with only one eye open, purring like kittens.

Put your beds to bed!  What does that mean.  It means put your beds to sleep applying a pre emergent so that the little weeds you fight in the spring are steal asleep when you are coming out of your long winters nap.  Now is the time to do so.  Rake up all your leaves and place a nice cover over your bed, tis like sleepy dust.  You won’t have to be prowling around, like my dad all winter bobbing the weeds that pop up.

Call us for questions or help.  (206) 718-2285.

Pregnant Turkey

We raise our own turkeys and the first year we served one up for Thanksgiving was a surprise for all my family.  As I was carving the turkey I noticed something unusual where we normally stuff the turkey.  I took my tongs and pulled out a baby turkey.  As I did I announced “Oh this turkey was pregnant!”  Family members that had not lived on a farm cried “the poor baby!”  My daughter who is as devious as myself laughed and said “Turkeys don’t get pregnant they lay eggs!”  Everyone laughed but not much turkey was eaten that year.

Don’t be a turkey call me if you need any help in landscaping needs…

Happy Thoughts

Why do we do what we do?  We are all free to choose what we do with our time, why do we choose such a divers pallet of things to do?  Could it be what we choose to associate with increases our desire in turn deepens what we hope for, then purifies our faith in which finally moves us to action.  I am blogging not because of any other reason than I associate with two blogger’s, Larry and Kathy of neighborhoods undressed.  I tell you, too much association with anyone can cause you to do things you would never dreamed of.  On the other hand, things you have dreamed of may come true if you associate with those who are doing what you dream of.  Some dreams come true and some don’t so keep on dreaming.  I dream of associating with you and leaving you with happier thoughts of a cleaner yard, a more care free and appealing place to live.

I remember when I was a boy working in the back yard with my younger brother as my older brother sat in the house.  I said to him, “one day this will all pay off, just keep working.”  I have been landscaping ever since and love the work.  I just hit fifty and long for more.

Did you know that pansies always look better in the spring if they were planted in the fall because their roots are well established and have run deep into the rich soil.  I am grateful my roots were planted at an early age and in deep rich soil.  I thank my grandfather who taught me to keep a goin, keep a goin.  He had a stroke in his 50s and I wasn’t sure if he was saying keep a growin or keep a goin.  He was a great influence on me.

Grow where you are planted.

Elephants on parade And Landscaping?

November 24th, 2008

How do you eat an elephant? not one bite at a time. Do you even know anyone who has ever eaten an elephant? I don’t think so. You would have to freeze some of it and who knows how many freezers it would take. You would have to grind the bones and make calcium pills that would last you a life time.  And how do you eat ivory?  If you know, let me know. Have you ever eaten an elephant?  I haven’t. Ever who said one bite at a time has never gone to a petting zoo.

The question is how do you take care of your yard? It is in line with the same question, what is best to make for dinner?  Reservations!  So back to the question of how do you take care of your yard?  Not one bite at a time, you would be out of bites before you ever got done.  The answer is, make a reservation for us to help either by ideas or trying us out for an hour, a half day or a day.  Don’t eat an elephant. They are out of season and surely don’t taste like chicken.

The weather out there is frightful!

Oh, the weather out there is frightful, but the fire is so delightful.  So get some firewood!  Why does firewood feel warmer, nicer and more comfortable.  Because is is less expensive, more cozy and you feel better keeping your home warmer, also radiant heat warms objects instead of air and it allows people to feel warm at lower air temperatures, increasing muscle tone and aliveness.

If you need some of that Northwest wood for a fire that is so delightful, I can deliver a half cord of wood for 175.00, 275.00 for a full cord..  A half cord is a 4ft cube. Lance
